WHISPER'S HOSPITAL REPORT FOR JULY 2018
This
month we treated 880 patients in the children's wing and received 64
maternity patients. We have been able to save so many lives especially
for the emergencies that come in.
Drugs occupy the highest amount of money for our general expenses at the
hospital since our maternity is also doing well. We spent £7,076 on
drugs and laboratory supplies. We received 2 burns patients in July
which is less compared to the four patients we received in June.
We treated 17 malnourished children in July. Malnutrition among the
patients we receive is mainly due to poor feeding of babies caused by a
high rate of poverty especially in the eastern region of Uganda. To
donate to the vulnerable malnourished children please follow this link. https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-a-malnourished-child-with-whispers-hospital/
The number of Anemic patients has been high especially in the eastern
part of Uganda and we have transfused blood to 249 patients in July. The
high rate of anemia is brought about by malaria and sickle cell
disease.
