WHISPER’S MAGICAL HOSPITAL REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 2018
November was a busy month at Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital and Maternity as compared to the previous three months. We received a total of 1051 patients. 979 patients were registered in the children’s wing and 72 patients in our magical maternity. So many lives were saved. Our hospital has been of a significant impact to the community in the Eastern region.
We received 13 malnourished patients in November, 9 were discharged and 2 were referred to Nalufenya regional referral because of Tuberculosis. Most children admitted last month were underweight and had Severe Acute Malnutrition with Oedematous. On assessment, most of the malnourished children did not exclusively breastfeed making their immunity low and prone to infections that led to malnutrition. To help the outreach team in locating the malnourished children in Uganda please donate through this link.https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-a-malnourished-child-with-whispers-hospital/
We transfused blood to 139 anemic patients. The number of anemic patients was low compared to the previous three months.
We thank everyone for their contribution towards our charity organisation.

Greetings Whisper Family.
Below is our summarised October report for Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital and Maternity.
Whisper's Hospital Report for October 2018
In October we treated 780 patients in total. We received 72 patients in our Magical Maternity and 708 patients in the children's wing. The number of patients received slightly increased by 78 patients as compared to the month of September. Many lives have been saved.
We managed to transfuse blood to 158 patients in October. The number of anemic patients reduced compared to September's 244 transfused patients. This time around there was quite enough blood supply in other hospitals which may have caused a reduction in the number of transfusion since some of the transfused patients are referred from other hospitals to Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital due to lack of enough blood.
£6446 was spent on drugs and laboratory supplies.
We registered 10 malnourished patients in the nutritional ward in the month of October. Our patients spend a minimum period of four weeks in the ward. Whisper's magical hospital is saving so many mothers' lives by ensuring and providing safe deliveries.

Below is the summarised September report for Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital and Maternity
WHISPER'S HOSPITAL REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 2018
In September we treated a smaller number of patients compared to the month of August. We treated 702 patients in total. 631 patients in the children’s wing and 71 patients in magical maternity. The smaller number of patients received is mainly due to the fact that September is a dry season whereby diseases like malaria are not common because of dried up bushes and stagnant water. These are breeding grounds for mosquitoes and the biggest number of patients we receive are malaria patients. Another reason could be the sensitization we do during our morning meetings with the patients' caretakers. A lot of information is given out by our doctors and it involves prevention of many diseases and conditions for example boiling of drinking water, use of treated mosquito nets, slashing of thick bushes around their places of residence.
The number of transfused patients has slightly increased compared to last month. We had 244 patients transfused in September. Although the number of patients reduced, many lives were saved. We receive quite a big number of anemic patients. Through our good working relationship with Blood Bank Uganda, we are able to receive enough blood for all our patients.
We had 11 malnourished patients in September including 1 patient brought by the outreach team whom we treated for free. Still the biggest number of malnourished children come from deep rural areas in the Eastern region of Uganda where parents cannot afford enough food to feed their children. To donate to the malnourished children please click on this link and save a life.https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-a-malnourished-child-with-whispers-hospital/
We thank everyone who has contributed to Whispers as a charity organisation.

ONE OF THE CHILDREN WHISPER RESCUED

Whisper was informed of a dying child from Kawanda village by one of the Whisper friends. Miss Veronika organized the outreach team to go and rescue the dying little boy called Fredrick. He was severely malnourished, his mother was abandoned by the husband. The 34 weeks pregnant mother had no support to take care of Fredrick. Both Fredrick and the mother were brought to Whisper's Magical Hospital for treatment and close monitoring. Little Fredrick was put on nutritional rehabilitation until he was fully recovered. All this was done for free. Thanks to our beloved donors for the saved lives of such vulnerable little children. Please follow this link to donate to the malnourished children https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-a-malnourished-child-with-whispers-hospital/

Sophie suffered 40% burns surface area while she was playing near a fire place as reported by the mother. For the one month and two weeks she has spent at Whisper's Magical Hospital in the burns unit, daily dressing and treatment have been done. Some of the wound surface has healed but she needs to undergo a graft surgery.
Whisper has organised funds to take her for skin grafting at CORSU(Comprehensive Rehabilitation Service In Uganda). We thank all our beloved donors for supporting us to save such suffering children. To donate to our burns unit please follow this link.

ONE OF THE MOTHERS HELPED BY WHISPER
Angela came to Whisper's Magical Hospital with her son Fredrick one of the malnourished children rescued by our social workers. She was 34 weeks of gestation. Whisper wanted her to have a free and safe delivery since she could not afford going to a good hospital for delivery. she was abandoned by the husband and did not have any support from the relatives. On reaching the hospital, she had to undergo an emergency cesarean section because on running the tests she had chorioamnionitis with fetal distress. For more information on chorioamnionitishttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorioamnionitis
