THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR HOSPITAL
We greatly appreciate all the support given to us from all our donors to run our charity Hospital. Since our launch in March 2016, Whisper has so far saved over 30,000 lives of children and mothers combined. Thank you for choosing our charitable Hospital out of the many.

WHISPER'S HOSPITAL REPORT FOR APRIL 2019
In the month of April, Whisper’s Magical
Children’s Hospital and maternity registered 1174 patients with
maternity, adult consultation and pediatrics combined. The number was
quite more than the 1116 patients received in the month of March. We
received so many patients both adults and pediatrics. With the help of
our donors, we managed to save so many lives at Whisper’s Magical
Children’s Hospital and Maternity. There is a great positive impact our
Hospital is giving to the community.
We managed to transfuse blood to 149 patients. The number of anemic
patients has slightly reduced as compared to the months of February and
March. However, the number of patients with Malaria has increased as
compared to the months of January and February but few patients came
with severe Malaria which causes Anemia. The patients transfused are
mostly children. We make sure that we are always equipped with enough
blood ready for any emergencies which come in.

Brenda
one of the nurses in Emergency ward bagging a neonate to help him
breathe. The baby was brought in Emergency ward when he could not
breastfeed and had difficult in breathing. He was managed for Neonatal
sepsis and high grade fevers. Our Emergency ward receives so many babies
in very critical conditions and we are able to save them with the best
machines and treatment because of the support from our donors.

This is a newborn baby in maternity left under the care of the wives. Her mother had pulmonary embolism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_embolism)
and had to undergo emergency C-section. The baby was born as a
premature at 32 weeks. The mother was in a very critical condition, she
had to be referred to Nsambya Hospital in Kampala which is 71km from our
Hospital. We used the organisation car which is not suitable to
transport a semi conscious mother but we had no Ambulance and had
to save her life. On arrival, she was taken into Intensive Care Unit for
2 weeks as the baby stayed under the care of our nurses. all this was
done at no cost. The mother is now out of the ICU and recovering
steadily. We thank you for the donations which enable us to fund such
emergencies and other different multiple services. For more support

WHISPER'S FREE OBSTETRICS SCANS.
On 26th April, Whisper's Magical Hospital began the free obstetrics
scans on the pregnant mothers in different parts of the Eastern region
in Uganda. This was done by the outreach team together with our
radiographer. The project started in Iganga district at Bunyiiro health
center where 34 scans were done. The team also moved to Namalemba health
center where they worked on 15 women. Today they are at Bulyansiime
health center where 27 scans have so far been done. This makes it a
total of 76 free scans. All the women who have been worked on in Iganga
district have been so appreciative towards this project. The project has
created a positive impact to the community whereby even mothers who
cannot afford a pregnancy scan have the opportunity to get one with the
help of whisper's outreach team. We thank all our beloved donors for
supporting us to help the most vulnerable mothers in Uganda have safe
deliveries. https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/stop-ugandan-women-and-children-dying-at-childbirth/

MALNOURISHED CHILDREN
We registered 9 malnutrition cases in
April, and they were mostly brought in by grandmothers and a few by
their teenage mothers. The 7 children were managed properly and
discharged. One child was referred to Nalufenya regional referral to get
Anti-TBS. The other child died while still in Emergency ward under
resuscitation due to intestinal obstruction. The child was brought in
late from home and his condition had worsened. Our doctors tried
everything but unfortunately, we lost the baby. There are so many
children like this in the deep rural areas of Uganda who need support
but die before arrival to the hospital. We have the outreach team to
look for such children and bring them to the hospital for nutritional
rehabilitation. please support us through this noble cause. https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-a-malnourished-child-with-whispers-hospital/
