Baby Adam - another angel sent to Whisper

Meet our new baby boy Adam.

He was born on the 10/09/2014 to a mother of 6 children in the Butagaya village.

The family received the bad news that the mother died due to the excessive bleeding after giving birth to the baby.

Our team was called for help yesterday by several people in fact. They said that the baby has nobody who could take care of him.

We didn't hesitate and had gone to the village to provide an immediate help to the boy.

We arrived to the village whilst the funeral was taking place.

The father of the baby is a poor peasant with no income to support the family.  He requested us for help of taking care of the newborn and his two year old child called Kenneth.

Whisper took baby Adam under one to one care by our volunteer Emilie since he is only five days old.

When Emilie brought him home, he was fast asleep, so little and innocent not knowing his mum is no longer there for him.

It is breaking my hearts seeing the tiny little mouth searching for the breast milk and wanting to fall asleep in mother's arms who is not there...

The mum of this boy could have lived if a proper immediate care would be provided for her at the time of giving birth.

Having an infant myself, I know how much babies need their mothers, it is the only comfort and security they can find, falling asleep in mothers' arms, feeling the love in order to learn to love back. This intimate experience was sadly taken away from him.

Baby Adam will be taken care with the biggest care and love as our other babies such is Diana, Waiswa or Suubi, who lost their mothers in childbirth.

Whisper is again privileged and fortunate to take care of this little angel, and seeing him grow in a little happy man.

I think of it every day, how my baby Yasmina is so fortunate and lucky...  and again it is a privilege to share anything that Yasmina has with the baby who didn't even have a single baby t-shirt to put on.

In addition to the formula milk, I am expressing my own breast milk to give him through out the day and he LOVES it.

Thank you our volunteer Emilie for the help she is providing without any hesitance.

I would like to also say thank you to our other volunteer Renata, who is right now taking care of his two year old brother who entered our children's home yesterday upon his father's wish and request.

Meet Kenneth.

He is now 2 years old and we are very happy to have him in our care and we hope to provide him and his little new born brother with lots of happy moments :)

We are now looking for anybody who would be happy to help to this family farther.

The living condition for those children is very poor.

All the rest of the brothers sleep on the floor, none of them have blanket or a proper sheet to cover at the cold nights of this rainy season.

We would love to help them with some new mattresses and bedding.
