Whisper's Hospital Report for February and March
Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital has been very successful in the months of February and March. We have managed to treat 896 patients in February whereas 837 patients were treated in March.
We have spent 21,425100 Uganda shillings (£4,085) on drugs, laboratory supplies and consumables in February and 19,870,300 Uganda shillings (£3,789) spent on the same items in March.
The total number of burns patients received in February is less compared to total number of patients received in March. We received only 1 burns patient in February whereas 4 patients were admitted in March.
We have had 5 malnourished patients in February and 6 in March. The nutritional deficiencies in the Eastern region of Uganda are brought about by poor feeding which is a result of poverty in the rural parts of Eastern Uganda.
We transfused blood to 132 patients in February which is more compared to the 77 patients transfused in March. This also indicates that the number of Anemic patients is high especially in the Eastern region of Uganda. This could be caused by Malaria and sickle cell disease.
The outreach team is also doing a wonderful job of reaching out to the suffering children in different communities. Besides the harsh weather and the unfavorable conditions in the field, the outreach team was able to rescue 3 children in February who were in really bad conditions and 4 in March. They were brought to the hospital for checkup and treatment.
We thank everyone who is supporting Whisper as an organisation.

MATERNITY DEPARTMENT PROJECT :
Pregnant women and mothers have been excited ever since they heard about our maternity department project. They have been seeing the care and support we give to their children and they wish to get the same care, love, support and treatment during pregnancy and delivery. Whisper has been raising money to ensure the establishment of the maternity department. in doing so we also had to reallocate our hospital from Nizam Road to our new building on Madhvani road in Jinja which we are yet to open up.

This is because we needed a bigger space for maternity so as to help as many pregnant women as possible. Most of these mothers give birth at home because the charges for maternity in the hospitals where they can deliver from are high. we have been having many cases of Neonatal conditions for example Neonatal sepsis, Neonatal meningitis among others which could have been prevented if these mothers had the best hospital with the best care and treatment and at a very low price, which our new maternity department can provide.
This will also help us follow up the child's health from the time of delivery as they continue growing up.For donations and support please click on the link provided below.

This is our new hospital in Jinja. We are hoping to help and save so many lives here. The place is big enough to accommodate a lot of patients from different regions in Uganda. Thank you for all of your donations.

FIRE AT THE NILE CRESCENT VILLAGE IN JINJA, UGANDA :
On 26th day of February, we got a call from our outreach team saying that Nile crescent village had caught fire. As a charity organisation, we had to go and help the fire victims. We found out that over 67 families were affected. All the homes were burnt to the ground. These families lost everything. Whisper helped out in so many ways, we hired a big tent as shelter because it was a rainy season there all the fire victims got a place to sleep as we prepared for the next solution. We bought firewood which they used for communal cooking, food ( posho, rice ). We also created awareness through our Facebook page and managed to get other NGOs and individuals to help out. We spent over 1,430,000sh (£272). Whisper together with other charity organisations have been successful in rebuilding the once destroyed houses. All these families were given mattresses, food, plates, saucepans, jerrycans, blankets, basins, knives for peeling food, wooden poles, roofing nails and iron sheets for the reconstruction of their houses.
We thank everyone for the donations given in to help the fire victims.
Part of Nile crescent village totally burnt down to the ground. The children in the background belong to some of the families affected by the fire. They didn't have anything to eat when we arrived at the scene because everything including food was destroyed.
These are some of the mothers and children lining up to get breakfast. it was a trying moment for them but at least we managed to be there for them. In the background are some of the wooden poles we provided, we also paid for the builders who were in charge of constructing houses for the victims so that the work gets done as soon as possible.
These are some of the fire victims trying to figure out what to do next. They passed through a hard time, they lost everything from clothes to personal documents. It was really a hard moment for them.
This is during the reconstruction of the burnt down houses. Each family was given the wooden poles and iron sheets. Each family had a minimum of 4 children.
