RE: FAMILY COUNSELLING VISIT TO CHARLES (STAFF)
On the 10th/April/2012, we were approached by Charles’s wife, one of our very own staff. She had deep seated grievances she wished to discuss with Emmanuel and I. they were to do with their family, issues she said were rapidly destroying their family.
“Charles says he has 5 children that were left behind by their mother after a divorce, his first wife, and that his current wife is not giving them sufficient love as he wishes it to happen.
His wife also says that if Charles his husband truly trusts her then he should give her all the rights to nurture the children as their mother…disciplining them where necessary (with the Cain) something Charles does not agree with at all. Also, while Charles married this lady, his current wife, she too had two children and now Charles is ordering her to take them back to their father something the woman isn’t willing to do. This is what is causing this family a lot of trouble”
We for this reason thought it wise to intervene and probably listen to this couple, and try to reunite them making them acknowledge each other as a unique person, respecting each other’s differences as individuals so they can harmoniously raise their children as a family.
It is very true also that if we do not help families like these by teaching them how to love one another as married couples and also fail to help them with issues of proper parenting, we are continually going to be hit with overwhelming numbers of child headed families as an express result of divorce or separation; other catastrophes include single parenting, aggravated health issues in families and hopelessness.
It is against these reasons paid this family a visit, organised a counseling session for them and tried to create a reconciliation plat form for them.
