Community Work - follow up on Hagira, Bridgette and Muwanga

- follow up

When we met this trio more than a month ago it was a very saddening encounter.

The children lived in very bad conditions, and their legs heavily infested with jiggers. The children lived in a child headed family led by a 9 year old boy. They barely  had food to eat as their mother was truly married to alcohol. We were made to understand that this lady hardly spent two days in a week at her home.

We started counselling this lady during the month of March and as I report now, the whole family is reunited and the children can now afford a smile on their faces.

All thanks go out to Whisper supports for your continuous support to these causes. Our plan is to improve these children's sleeping conditions through purchase of beds, blankets and bed sheets and mosquito nets. We also intend to resettle them into school so that they too can live the normal life as other children do.

In addition to the above information, below are the following costs for the needs in this family.

Papyrus of dividing the room so that they can use for both running some business as well as sleeping on the other side:

  • Papyrus, nails, plus transport for these materials 65.000 UGSH
  • School fees are 35.000 per child per term in a nearby private school, for the Government school is very far for these kids to run every morning to Kyabilwa Primary Schoo. This is without any scholastic material for them.
  • In the matter of improving the sleeping condition, the following costs will be encored:
  1. Two decker Beds 90.000
  2. Two mattresses 90.000
  3. Three blankets and bed sheets 30.000
  4. Two mosquito nets 20.00
